Proposed Amendment No. 1, 2017 to the Great Northern Peninsula (Route 430) Highway Zoning Plan

The Department of Municipal Affairs and Environment is considering amending the Great Northern Peninsula Highway Zoning Plan. The purpose of the amendment is to rezone land located on the south side of Route 430, immediately south of Anchor Point, to accommodate indoor and outdoor storage of fishing equipment. Amendment No. 1, 2017 proposes to rezone the subject site from ‘Highway Service’ to ‘Rural Conservation’.

A public hearing is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the Anchor Point Town Hall on Loop Road, Anchor Point. The commissioner will consider any written submissions and/or input made at the public hearing and provide a report and recommendation to the Department of Municipal Affairs and Environment.

Any person wishing to make a submission on proposed amendment must provide a written statement and/or a written indication of intent to attend the hearing and must contact the undersigned by 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 25, 2018. If no submissions are received at least two days before the date set for the public hearing, the public hearing may be cancelled.
