Public Consultation on Proposed Amendment No. 1, 2017 to the Great Northern Peninsula (Route 430) Highway Zoning Plan

In response to a request by an individual, the Department of Municipal Affairs and Environment is considering amending the Great Northern Peninsula Highway Zoning Plan. In accordance with section 14 of the Urban and Rural Planning Act, public consultation to solicit input from interested persons, community groups and other stakeholders is required when amending a provincial highway zoning plan.

The purpose of the amendment is to rezone land located on the south side of Route 430, immediately south of Anchor Point to accommodate indoor and outdoor storage of fishing equipment. Amendment No. 1, 2017 proposes to rezone the subject site from ‘Highway Service’ to ‘Rural Conservation’.

Please see the draft amendment and the Google Earth file for locational reference.

Please contact the undersigned if you wish to submit comments or require clarification regarding this consultation opportunity. Anyone wishing to submit comments regarding the draft amendment should do so by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday August 8, 2018.
