Municipal Infrastructure and Support Branch

The Municipal Infrastructure and Support Branch assesses needs and funds municipal infrastructure projects and implements the Provincial Solid Waste Management Strategy.

Engineering Mandate

This division provides professional engineering, administrative, and technical support services to facilitate the provision of sustainable, suitable and affordable municipal infrastructure in a manner that will result in greater autonomy for communities.

Waste Management Mandate

The Waste Management Division is responsible for the overall implementation of the Provincial Solid Waste Management Strategy, and as the lead government agency for the Strategy it works closely with its other government partners: Department of Environment and Conservation, Service NL, and the MMSB. It is responsible for working with local governments to find sustainable waste management solutions and the administration and engineering oversight of related capital projects to deliver modern waste management infrastructure.
